YVS Chowdary, producer-director of Nandamuri Balakrishna's much-hyped Okka Magaadu claimed that the first day collections of the film stood at a staggering Rs. 7 crore. "The exact figure for the day will be known tomorrow." The film which heralded the Sankranti season was released in about 500 theatres all over the state, with 150 in Nizam, 40 in Vizag and 80 in ceded areas. YVS said that several theatres started showing the film right from the midnight of January 10th itself and continued to screen record number of shows. Reports say the film witnessed unprecedented black-marketing of tickets – each ticket for Rs. 500 to 1000/-. In Anantapur, a hardcore fan purchased single ticket for Rs. 45,000/-. The version from the fans says that OM is set to create a record at the Box office, irrespective of the public talk.
