Krishna is a refreshing movie, even though with not much story. Raviteja and VV Vinayak stand up to the expectations and comes with a good entertainer. The treatment and comedy in the film turns Krishna into a real good one. Dialogs and comedy in the film are very good. And Raviteja delivers the right goods. With his comedy timings and mass mannerisms, he is just apt. Brahmanandam will surely deserve special mention in this film. He just rocked with his comedy in the role.
Story in short: Krishna (Raviteja) is a Msc Computers Gold medalist from Vijayawada and lives with his brother and sister-in-law. He falls in love with Sandhya (Trisha). Life isnt that easy for him. Sandhya has a background. There is one bad guy who is in love with her. Now Krishna has to overcome him to get his love.
Krishna has all elements to entertain with plenty of comedy and action. Raviteja is, asusual, at his best with both comedy timing and performance. VV Vinayak is known for projecting the hero image and here also it is no exception. Trisha is good in her role. Comedy in the first half is very entertaining. It is almost a full length role for Brahmanandam as Babi and he rocked in the role throwing the audience into laughs all the time. Venu Madhav appears in a short role and did contribute to the comedy of the film. Sunil, Murali, Chitram Srinu as friends of Raviteja are content in their roles.
First half of the film revolves around establishing the characters and love track between Raviteja and Trisha. First half is very good in the film with the entertaining comedy liners penned by Akula Siva. Sequences created are refreshing and hillarious. There is enough action sequences too which are conceived nicely.
Second half kick starts with background of Sandhya and how the hero tackles those issues. It gets a bit serious in the second half with lot of action. However, the director made sure that the tempo generated by the comedy in the first half did not lose the effect. Even wihtin the serious moments, the director inserted good comedy. Good thing is that comedy is interleaved in the film rather than running as seperate track. This helps a lot in generating comedy even when the film is running in serious mode.
Direction and screenplay by VV Vinayak are perfect in making Krishna into a good entertainer. Songs are also conceived very well. Even though the storyline appeared in several films before, it is the narration that makes the difference. Cinematography, editing and music are good. Chota K. Naidu did catch the highlights of Vijayawada very nicely in Dhil Mange more song. Songs are composed by Chakri and the background score is done by Chinna. Akula Siva should be applauded for the dialogs that will tickle the audience.
Overall, the film is a good entertainer with right mix of comedy, action and mass elements. The film is apt for Raviteja. Plenty of comedy is a big asset. Brahmanandam rocks with his histronics and dialogs in the film. And Krishna can be watched with the entire family.
