It would be an understatement if one were to call Allari Naresh as a potential successor to Rajendra Prasad. Naresh had proven his capability as an actor very early in his career but unfortunately not many of his films despite his weighty performances didn't click at the box office, owe this to the script or poor narration by the directors but it requires so many inputs and so many hands to make a film a success and an artiste a real 'actor'.

With not so great looks, a lean personality and drooping shoulders, this young man had completely overshadowed his physical shortcomings with a breezy, pleasant and an entertaining work in debutant Radha Krishna (Krish)'s film 'Gamyam' as Gaali Seenu.

Plot:
Sharwanand plays Abhiram who has lost his mother when he was very young and has grown amidst wealth and fair weather friends. The stinking rich Abhiram falls for a medical student Janaki (Kamalini) but after a period of courtship she realizes he is not the right guy for her. She disappears and Abhiram embarks on a journey on his bike to recover his lost love. Naresh is a petty bike thief who is simple and plain hearted, he bumps into Abhiram and they set out together to trace Janaki.

Story, screenplay and direction:
Though the film basically introduces itself as a love story, it is the friendship between Abhiram and Gaali Seenu that dominates most of the time. As mentioned Naresh steals the show with his near perfect comic timing and natural expressions and all characters pale in comparison. That is perhaps one reason why Sharwanand despite playing the rich guy's role to the hilt is overshadowed by the overpowering role and dialogues given to Naresh.

All the characters are beautifully etched, they have shades of grey and they all move towards the positive as the journey progresses, for example..Kamalini is stubborn, has her priorities right but at the end of the film she believes in him, Sharwanand grows up in a different atmosphere but the beauty in his character unfolds while he takes pains to explain why he behaves like that. His father too changes and there is another very nice character in the dancer who melts your heart with her few sentences.

Kamalini Mukherjee shows no novelty in her work so there is hardly anything to talk about her except her graceful movements in a dance drama. Her holier than thou and pricey attitude is getting a little too much for the audiences.

Technical Aspects:
The director has done commendable work for his first film but he has a long way to go. He has however able to deliver a pleasant story despite some out of place semi-plot stuff like the forest scenes and scribe and naxalist episodes. There is nothing great about the songs but one can't find fault with them either. The visuals come out better in the forest and Brahmanandam appears briefly but is of no help. Infact Naresh has carried the entire film on his shoulders and brought out all the emotions that one need not ask for more characters.

Finally:
The goal to become a successful film looks possible as one character plays a class role, the other is outright mass. With the kind of dialogues written for Naresh, the film is sure to draw a decent collection in the coming days provided the producers push the film aggressively.
