One look at the kind of films Rajat Kapoor has done, especially in the capacity of a director, and you would realize that the man has always incorporated quirky elements in the screenplay. The kind of humor is such that it may be bizarre and unidentifiable for some but more often than not brings a smile on audience's lips.
Films like RAGHU ROMEO and MIXED DOUBLES have been two such ventures in the past which have demonstrated the funny side of Rajat Kapoor who has also done notable roles in films like KHOYA KHOYA CHAND, MONSOON WEDDING, DIL CHAHTA HAI and CORPORATE. Apart from RAGHU ROMEO and MIXED DOUBLES, he was also the part of BHEJA FRY, though in the capacity of an actor, which broke all records when it came to quirky humor working in a big way.
Now Rata Kapoor's third film as a director, MITHYA, is expected to take the trend forward as it sees a theatrical release on 8th February. With a solid star cast comprising of Naseeruddin Shah, Ranvir Shorey, Vinay Pathak and Saurabh Shukla along with Neha Dhupia in place, the film is a comic thriller which tells the story of VK (Ranvir Shorey), a bad theater actor, who aims for making big in Bollywood and instead gets involved with the underworld.
