Irrfan Khan would be enjoying an unexpected double bill this January. In addition to his much anticipated SUNDAY which releases on 25th January, an old film of his - TULSI - would also be seeing a theatrical release a week earlier i.e. 18th January.
Not much is known about TULSI, an art house film; except for the fact that it is the remake of Telugu film MATHRU DEVO BHAVA. Released way back in 1993, the film was directed by K Ajayakumar who is also the man behind TULSI.
Produced by C H Padmavathi, TULSI is arriving amidst minimal publicity and zero hype and it would be a surprise if it manages to garner even an all India release, let alone open well at the box office. On the other hand SUNDAY, which releases a week later, has enjoyed the kind of publicity blitzkrieg which takes just the opposite route and boasts of an unabashed on-your-face promotional campaign.
